IT BEGAN WITH A FEELING
"IT BEGAN WITH A FEELING" WITH A FEELING THAT LASTED BARELY LONGER THAN 10 DEEP BREATHES. THIS FEELING EMANATED FROM THE AREA AROUND THE TUMMY BUTTON. IT WAS AS IF A WHOLE OTHER WORLD WAS EXACTLY WHERE MY TUMMY BUTTON WAS. THIS WORLD WAS MORE COLOURFUL, MORE FRUITFUL, MORE INTENSE AND SOMEHOW MORE RADIANT THAN THE WORLD I HAD PREVIOUSLY KNOWN. IN THIS WORLD I SAW A VISION OF A WOMAN. She was tanned and muscular, though still tender in appearance. She was bare-footed. It was warm in this world, because she was otherwise only lightly clad. Her clothes looked like the Nature which surrounded her. And her eyes sparkled with pleasure. I heard her wild laugh. This woman had freed herself from the corset of proprietous behaviour - at least this was the first thing which occured to me as I observed her.. Then I saw how she swung herself onto an indescribably beautiful brown horse and galopped off into the mountainous countryside. A solar eclipse painted this passionate world in black-red hues. Saddle and reins were quite foreign to this woman. Her horse was just as untamed as she was and she as free as her horse. The vision of this woman, of her brown, wild horse and of this wild world never left my mind. Two years later, when I found myself in possession of a number of horses, I experienced a similar experience. Once again I recalled this feeling. It is difficult to put this feeling into words. The closest one comes is with the word "connectivity". I was sitting on a horse. It was a dazzlingly clear Winter's night with a full-moon. I was alone in a riding arena. And with the memories of that feeling of "connectivity" I caught a glimpse of another world. Once again I saw a woman, though not the same woman that had ridden the brown horse. This woman sat on a white horse, also without saddle or reins and looked at me. The she turned her horse and gently rode up an incline. Her feet were naked and she had long legs which seemed to surround the body of her strong horse. The tips of her toes pointed downwards, like the pointed toes of a dancer. Her attitude was upright and proud. Her gaze was relaxed and benign. A smile seemed to play in her eyes and she appeared not to know the name of care. There was something about her which seemed to make her immue from any signs of fear. She seemed so connected with life that there was nothing which could instil fear in her. She seemed utterly in control. She seemed to have endless time. The relation to her horse was deep and profound. I had the impression that both knew exactly where they came from and where they were going. In every woman there are one or several aspects of a "godess". There are aspects which are encouraged by our surroundings and by society and aspects which are rather repressed or discouraged. Mostly in a very subtle way. These images, described above, represent aspects of a "godess", which are a symbol for the capacity to find and follow one's own way. The godess on the brown horse could be compared with the godess Artemis, the godess of hunting. She represents an extrovert, active apsect of the woman's being, which is fixed on a single goal. Once the focus is set, she remains constant and true to her ideal, undeterred by obstacles or doubt. The woman on the white horse personifies rather more introverted, gentler female attributes. Her peaceful, wise and graceful manner, with which she connects herself to the outside world represents a sort of "perceived spirituality" which gives meaning to our dealings and activities. The course "horse godesses" is intended to activate those godess-like aspects within you, which can then be useful to you in your resolute path of life. I have rediscovered those women in my two visions in celtic, Irish, Welsh myths and fables. They appear as godesses or as mythological figures. And they appear on majestic horses and they are handsome, powerful, beautiful women. Incidentally, they often appear on "white horses". Their names are: Epona, Etain, Rhiannon, Carman, Modron, Macha, Medb, Ana and Dana. They are horse godesses. They appear as or with horses. They are figures from another world, beyond the realms of reality. Woman and horse appear in mythology as symbols for, freedom, devotion, beauty, superiority and fertilty. The woman on the white horse has appeared to me a good many times since. She has told me that we women can embrace the world, if we so desire.
